Dj Jun

Intrigued by the beauty of the music and intensity of the dance, Jun discovered the world of Argentine Tango when studying at Yale University, and started her DJing journey at Yale Tango Club.
Her incessant quest for great tango music led her to invitations of DJing by popular milongas in New York City, the vibrant tango community that nourished her growth and blossoming into a mature dancer and DJ. A gentle and sensitive soul, Jun actively listens to the dance floor and she creates such a music space that speaks to dancers’ emotions absorbed in a warm embrace, elegant steps, and playful movement. She aspires to create an engaging conversation with the dancers through her tunes where dancers could ease into their personal truth of tango with their emotions safely unfolding and expressed through the dance. Known for her impeccable delicacy of storytelling, Jun’s music is instrumental to creating some of the most blissful, energized and passionate milongas for the dancers that have heard her.
She has been sharing her music selections at renowned marathons internationally, like Abrazo Tango Marathon (Montreal), San Diego Tango New Year Festival, Atlanta Tango Marathon I & II, Buscándote Houston Tango Marathon, Las Mujeras Tango Marathon, Santa Maradona Marathon (Napoli, Italy), Pandora Tango Marathon (Greece), Caras de Tango Festival (Torino, Italy), etc., as well as Milongas in China, Italy and Argentina. Currently residing in California, her journey as a tango dancer, DJ, and community-builder continues to grow and expand through her persistent study of tango music and her consistent tango travels to Europe, Argentina and Asia.

Dj Monica Ramírez

I entered the world of Tango in 2005 in the city of Kansas City Missouri, where I took classes continuously for 5 years.  In 2010, I moved to NYC where my tango expanded in every way.  During my daily work days, I always listened to tangos;  This allowed me to learn to differentiate and get to know the orchestras a little more.  From then on, musicality became an essential part of my dance and I enjoyed the events I attended.  In 2018-2020 I embarked on the adventure of organizing and musicalizing the Milonga Capricho in NYC.  Soon after, I was invited to perform music at other events in NYC (Milonga la Nacional, NYC Tango Queer Festival and Mariela’s Practica).  In Tokyo Japan (Rada, Noda, Milonga Caminino and Gyu’s Milonga) CDMX (El Abrazo and La Garufita) Querètaro, Guadalajara and Mèrida.  I consider tango DJs as the main ingredients of any tango event.  My goal and priority is to always keep the entire audience on track;  always balancing the atmosphere of the event alternating and enjoying the wide range of beautiful Tangos.

Dj Serena

She has been dancing for 12 years and djing for 10. “The secret is in the music. Become intimate. Know it like a lover. Then you can fully give yourself to your partner, and the dance.”
Serena has DJed frequently in San Diego, and was the house DJ for Milonga Toca Tango for years as well as other milongas and practicas there. She’s Djed 3 times for Earth Virtual Milonga during the pandemic, to festivals and milongas from Chicago, to Salt Lake City, Utah, & Rosarito Mexico. Guest DJ for workshops in the OC, to Tucson, Az.
She happily DJs alternative milongas, but her greatest love is traditional music. I’m always looking to inspire dancers to love dancing, with a mix of dramatic, smooth, and rhythmic music; inspiring and passionate compositions as danced by your favorite professionals.
